GIVING HOPE TO HUMANITY
HELL SERMON
1 ¶ Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten
virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil
with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and
slept.
1Th 5:6
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the
bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
Mt 24:31; 1Th 4:16
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
Lu 12:35
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil;
for our lamps are gone out. {gone out: or, going out}
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not
enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for
yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they
that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
Lu 13:25
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord,
Lord, open to us.
Mt 7:21-23
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know
you not.
Ps 5:5; Hab 1:13; Joh 9:31
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour
wherein the Son of man cometh.
Mt 24:42,44; Mr 13:33,35; Lu 21:36; 1Co 16:13; 1Th 5:6; 1Pe
5:8; Re 16:15
14 ¶ For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a
far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
Mt 21:33; Lu 19:12
15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to
another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway
took his journey. {talents: a talent is one hundred and eighty seven pounds ten
shillings}
Mt 18:24; Ro 12:6; 1Co 11:1-34; 12:7,11,29; Eph 4:11
16 Then he that had received the five talents went and
traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained
other two.
18 But he that had received one went and digged in the
earth, and hid his lord's money.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and
reckoneth with them.
20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought
other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents:
behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
21 His lord said unto
him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a
few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of
thy lord.
Mt 24:47;
25:34,46; 28:20; Lu 12:44; 22:29-30; 2Ti 2:12; Heb 12:2; 1Pe 1:8
22 He also that had
received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents:
behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful
servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over
many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Mt 25:21
24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said,
Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown,
and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the
earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26 His lord answered
and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap
where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27 Thou oughtest
therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I
should have received mine own with usury.
28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him
which hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall
have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which
he hath.
Mt 13:12; Mr 4:25; Lu 8:18; 19:26; Joh 15:2
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness:
there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Mt 8:12; 24:51
31 ¶ When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all
the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
Zec 14:5; Mt 16:27; 19:28; Mr 8:38; Ac 1:11; 1Th 4:16; 2Th
1:7; Jude 1:14; Re 1:7
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he
shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the
goats:
Eze 20:38; 34:17,20; Mt 13:49; Ro 14:10; 2Co 5:10; Re 20:12
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the
goats on the left.
34 Then shall the
King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit
the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Mt 20:23; Mr 10:40; Ro 8:17; 1Co 2:9; Heb 11:16; 1Pe 1:4,9;
3:9; Re 21:7
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty,
and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Isa 58:7;
Eze 18:7; Heb 13:2,25; Jas 1:27; 3Jo 1:5
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me:
I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
2Ti 1:16; Jas 2:15-16
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when
saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a
stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we
thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say
unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my
brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Pr 14:31; 19:17; Mt 10:42; Mr 9:41; Heb 6:10
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart
from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his
angels:
Ps 6:8; Mt 7:23,28; 13:40,42; Lu 13:27; 2Pe 2:4; Jude 1:6
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was
thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye
clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw
we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison,
and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
Pr 14:31; 17:5; Zec 2:8; Ac 9:5
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but
the righteous into life eternal.

(KJV)
1 ¶ In the mean time, when there were gathered together an
innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he
began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the
Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
Mt 16:6,12; Mr 8:15
2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed;
neither hid, that shall not be known.
Mt 10:26; Mr 4:22; Lu 8:17
3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be
heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall
be proclaimed upon the housetops.
4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that
kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
Isa 51:7-8,12-13; Jer 1:8; Mt 10:28; Joh 15:14-15
5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him,
which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you,
Fear him.
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one
of them is forgotten before God?
Mt 10:29
7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before
men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
Mt 10:32; Mr 8:38; 2Ti 2:12; 1Jo 2:23
9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before
the angels of God.
10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man,
it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost
it shall not be forgiven.
Mt 12:31-32; Mr 3:28; Joh 5:16
11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto
magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer,
or what ye shall say:
Mt 10:19; Mr 13:11; Lu 21:14
12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what
ye ought to say.
13 ¶ And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to
my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a
divider over you?
Joh 18:36
15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of
covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things
which he possesseth.
1Ti 6:7
16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a
certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do,
because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns,
and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods
laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
Ec 11:9; 1Co 15:32; Jas 5:5
20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul
shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast
provided? {thy...: Gr. do they require thy soul}
Job 20:22; 27:8; Ps 39:6; 52:7; Jer 17:11; Jas 4:14
21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not
rich toward God.
Mt 6:20; Lu 12:33; 1Ti 6:18-19; Jas 2:5
22 ¶ And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto
you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body,
what ye shall put on.
Mt 6:25
23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than
raiment.
24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which
neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye
better than the fowls?
Job 38:41; Ps 147:9
25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his
stature one cubit?
26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least,
why take ye thought for the rest?
27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they
spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed
like one of these.
28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the
field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O
ye of little faith?
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall
drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. {neither...: or, live not in careful suspense}
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek
after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God;
and all these things shall be added unto you.
Mt 6:33
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good
pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Mt 11:25-26
33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags
which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief
approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
Mt 6:20; 19:21; Lu 16:9; Ac 2:45; 4:34; 1Ti 6:19
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be
also.
35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
Mt 25:1; Eph 6:14; 1Pe 1:13
36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord,
when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they
may open unto him immediately.
37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh
shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and
make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
Mt 24:46
38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the
third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known
what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered
his house to be broken through.
Mt 24:43; 1Th 5:2; 2Pe 3:10; Re 3:3; 16:15
40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at
an hour when ye think not.
Mt 24:44; 25:13; Mr 13:33; Lu 21:34,36; 1Th 5:6; 2Pe 3:12
41 ¶ Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this
parable unto us, or even to all?
42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise
steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their
portion of meat in due season?
Mt 24:45; 25:21; 1Co 4:2
43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh
shall find so doing.
44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler
over all that he hath.
Mt 24:47; 28:20
45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord
delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and
to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
Mt 24:48
46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he
looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in
sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. {cut...: or, cut
him off}
Mt 24:51
47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and
prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with
many stripes.
Nu 15:30;
De 25:2; Joh 9:41; 15:22; Ac 17:30; Jas 4:17
48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of
stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given,
of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they
will ask the more.
Le 5:17; 1Ti 1:13
49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if
it be already kindled?

50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I
straitened till it be accomplished! {straitened: or, pained}
Mt 20:22; Mr 10:38
51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell
you, Nay; but rather division:
Mic 7:6; Mt 10:34; Lu 12:49; Joh 7:43; 9:16; 10:19
52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house
divided, three against two, and two against three.
Mt 10:35
53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son
against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against
the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law
against her mother in law.
54 ¶ And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud
rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.
Mt 16:2
55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will
be heat; and it cometh to pass.
56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of
the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?
57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is
right?
58 When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate,
as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him;
lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and
the officer cast thee into prison.
Ps 32:6; Pr 25:8; Isa 55:6; Mt 5:25
59 I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast
paid the very last mite.

HOLINESS
It is a mistake to suppose that God does not want us to be
holy until death, for that would mean that He wants us to be unholy until
death. God does not want us to be unholy
at any time.
What Christianity most needs in her antagonism with every
form of unbelief, is holy living.
Real holiness has love for its essence, humility for its
clothing, the good of others as its employment, and the honor of God as its
end. -
Holiness does not consist in doing uncommon things, but in
doing every thing with purity of heart.
It is a great deal better to live a holy life than to talk
about it. Lighthouses do not ring bells
and fire cannon to call attention to their shining-they just shine.
The serene, silent beauty of a holy life is the most
powerful influence in the world, next to the might of the Spirit of God.
Whoso lives the holiest life is fittest far to die.
I believe the holier a man becomes, the more he mourns over
the unholiness that remains in him.
Holiness is the architectural plan upon which God builds up
His living temple.
